So essentially you went from multiple weekly water changes to 2 weeks with none ?Last nitrate check was 30ppm. That's about 2 weeks w/o wc's and regular feedings about 2-3 week. Was gonna give it a couple of days but changed my mind. Got couple of catfish in there are a little sensitive.
I probably have to do this again, had to clean out the sunsun filter. It was due for a cleaning so not sure if that skewed the numbers.
So far. Yes!So essentially you went from multiple weekly water changes to 2 weeks with none ?
Buy pumice instead of denitrate. It's much cheaper. $5 per gallon vs $30.Since mine isnt leaking to bad i want to take my time with the next version and maybe add another tower and additional denitrate.
Looks darker in the pic than reality but im thinking it would be redish by my normal wc routine. Last wc was wed so maybe its starting to do it thing

Assuming that's the work of the nitrate filter and not the water change, you could probably get away with a %20 wc every two months.View attachment 1249826 View attachment 1249825 Really quick update. 50%wc on last Friday. Cleaned out the filter as well. Fish have been fed since then. These are the latest numbers. Planning to keep some better recordings.
1st photo is of ammonia and nitrate.
