Sorry, I meant gate valves to be specically, and slip is what I use too. It should work fine.

Alright, I have been told another way I may be able to fix it by dieselhybrid, I will give that a try and then if it doesn't work, I'll buy the gates

Long time no update.

Still trying to fix the noise but I think I can figure out how to do it. Just need some pvc going up and a small hole. Also rescued a hybrid cat who was being beat up on by an Asian aro. Holding onto him until I can find him a good home

You mean a piece of pipe where your hand is? If so...get a "t" and take the pipe above the back of the tank a little put a cap on it with a hole drilled in the top just big enough for an air line to go in. You can use the air line or just leave the hole open. Oh put the "t" in place of the elbow where your hand is.
