Looks awesome Steve! Why cut the tire though, isn't that bad for traction?

Looks to be he's either re-treading it or possibly making the treads a bit deeper for even more traction...

It improves traction as well as reduces rotating mass. The stock tires with the big flat chevron treads don't offer much traction on dirt once you start adding serious power to the truck. So back-cutting them helps to add edges on the tread to dig into the dirt. Also makes them a bit more flexible which helps traction. Then cutting the edges of the side lugs helps to make them lighter which helps acceleration.
Wow thanks for the clarification guys! What do you use to cut the tire Steve? A file?
I cut the lugs on the sides off with a pair of bonsai branch cutters (don't tell krich that lol) which are basically fancy side cutters. Then the main work I do with a dremel and 3/8" sanding drum. It's dirty and tedious work but the only real way to do it though.
Working on painting and making some of the interior detail pieces now before it's ready for powder coating the chassis. Radiator, Optima battery, cables, steering wheel, MSD ignition box, tachometer, shifter, all about done now.

Where do you buy the interior details?lol don't tempt me, with my OCD I'll hook the light up to shift at a certain RPM lol. I've been scouring the net looking for detail scale parts. Lots of "rc crawler" sites out there like The Scale King and Shapeways. Then ebay has some stuff as well. Just been getting a bit from here and there and then making some things myself when I can.
