Just got done watching Solo. It was definitely not as bad as I heard/expected it to be, but I wouldn't say it was great by any means. I will say it was a lot longer than it needed to be that's for sure. I think the same story could have been told in 90mins rather than 135mins. While it wasn't "bad" I just think since Disney took over they really have lacked something that the Star Wars films always had. And I don't like the Disney style of trying to interject humor that is not really funny into these Star Wars films. Also don't care for the way they add little things which almost have a social/political overtone to them for no reason at all. Such as the L3 droid constantly shouting about equal rights for droids and droid freedom and all. That just seemed like some sort of un-needed Sc-Fi level SJW type stuff if you ask me.

Other than that I wouldn't call it bad, just not really something that I feel I would sit down for 2hrs+ and watch a 2nd time that's for sure.
I agree with everything you said there....especially on Disney and their added nonsense.I heard that the film didn't do well at the box office so there may not be a sequel... ..which would be unfortunate as I would like to see what they were going to do with Darth Maul.

Agreed. I liked seeing chewy but what were the thinking with the other wookies they all looked like chaka from land of the lost.

The actor who played han didnt seem like a good fit. He came off too goofy and happy.

I haven't seen it so I can't compare but but the OG Star Wars had humor. Just check out Leia with Han and Luke during her rescue. To quote Leia," This is some rescue" and just about anytime C3PO talked.

I can agree SJW is not needed in any movie.

I didnt take L3 as being sjw. I figured it was just a failed attempt at humor. But i can see it being sjw after steve mentioned it

Has anybody seen "Free Solo" yet? So hoping this will be shown in Asia but not yet. I haven't been to a theater in over a decade but I'd go for this.

That's basically why I said they add "unfunny" humor. The humor that was in Star Wars with Harrison Ford was so natural that he even improved some of it. In Empire Strikes Back before he was frozen and Leia said I love you, he reply of "I know" was actually not in the script. That sort of humor was so fitting it actually made the movie better. The humor Disney adds such as with L3 saying "don't watch me I can't preform when watched" or with some of the other lines they had Lando or Han saying, they just seemed so forced and too much of this obvious/blatant humor that is so prevalent in movies these days that it just isn't really funny at all.

LOL I was thinking the same thing about that one wookie. I knew it reminded me of something but I couldn't figure out what. Now I know, Chaka! lol

Im really looking forward to the upcoming SW movies prior to the Skywalker story line. I read they are planning 6ish movies involving the old republic.

I still like the new movies. My biggest beef is how they used luke and having kylo go maskless

Yeah agree about Kylo, I think they unmasked him WAAAAY too soon in that movie. I think if they would have left him masked for the whole film it would have made it a lot better. I remember watching it and seeing him take his mask off and thinking to myself..."REALLY?..they just unmasked him this soon, and he's a kid?" lol

Rouge One was pretty good I enjoyed that one. Force Awakens was okay, but could have been a lot better. Last Jedi I really thought was garbage. So much I personally didn't like in that one :( Like you said, the way they used Luke was a big part of it for me not liking that one. It was almost like they took a hero from my childhood and made him some washed up loser.

Yep....they killed Kylo's mystique by unmasking him so soon.
