Has anybody seen "Free Solo" yet?

I guess not...guys Hans Solo is cool and all but Alex 'Free Solo' Honnold is from another galaxy far, far away. If your hands don't get sweaty watching this dude with Jedi-like mind control powers you'd best check your pulse to make sure you're not a zombie storm trooper :)

Hah!.....meant to reply much earlier.I have never heard of the fellow or the film and I wasn't aware that Nat Geo had feature films in theaters....as for rock climbing I have a lot of respect for those guys who engage in that practice but I don't follow it very much.
I did try my hand at indoor climbing a few years ago.

How did the climbing go?

It was fun.I think I only climbed about twenty feet which was enough for me....even with all the safety gear lol.

Glad you could experience it (I've been a climbing instructor for over 20 years). And you don't need to go high to get the benefits of rock climbing, there's also 'bouldering' (outside and in gyms) where you climb (usually more gymnastic like moves) just a few feet off the ground with no rope or belayer. In your previous try I'm sure you were lowered down to the ground by your belayer, down climbing is actually much harder than climbing up.

Getting back to this film though, yes it's rare for a Nat Geo flick to get feature film status but that's what's going on with this one -- in fact it's been nominated for an Oscar or two. Reviews are that people are pretty blown away watching it -- esp. if they can get to an IMAX showing.
