The Wet Spot currently has a Wild Oscar's in.
A couple weeks maybe and Caspers babies should show up, I took in about 100 of them.

They both seem to get about the same size
You are catching on and I agree with you. I think what Duanes suggested is a better fit for the tank size. I think a group of convicts or JDs would be interesting.

Wet spot is good. Mine came from Golden Glove. I think AZ Gardens is good and Petzone has very good fish.
There is always a chance of fish getting things like inch when stocking a tank. So be prepared.
Also I assume you know about cycling a new tank?

I do, but for someone who hasn't had much experience what would you tell them?

Just read about it in the forum. Some internet sites OK on this also. Best to do fishless cycle. Get a liquid test kit from API. Takes 6-8 weeks to cycle unless you can use bacteria from an established tank. Then much shorter. Read up. Be carefull and don't rush.
