damn.. i come on here fairly often these last few months.. not sure how i missed this thread as i was building out my tank
 
Ah I always wondered how convicts look like in the wild. They seem they have more of the greyish body color instead of black.
The wild convicts I have seen do usually tend to have more of a greyish, even browish, tint to them. This may be due to different locales having slight variations. Also are quite a few species that can fall under the common name "convicts" - A. nigrofascaiata, siquia, kanna for example I have seen called convict, though they are technically separate species and all look a little bit different.
