Hello, I was wondering about the care of topaz cichlids. It seems like they like acidic water. Does anyone else know anything about them? If not, what cichlids would be good in a congo river basin biotype with congo tetras, and Senegal bichirs as well as African Butterfly Fish in a 55 g?

Look at Jewel cichlids, they are endemic to the biotope you are looking to build.
No experience with bichirs so not sure it thier small size may lead to midnight snacks.

Jewels are pretty but can be worse than convicts as far as breeding mode goes.

Senegals are the most peaceful bichir, so most cichlids over 2-3" should be good. Jewel cichlids are definitely bright. Love them. Tho any info on the topaz cichlid?
What is the scientific name? Amatitlania myrnae are also called topaz cichlids and are from Central America in hard water. So I'm not sure what topaz cichlid you are referring to when you said acidic water

KATALEKEEPER KATALEKEEPER , unfortunately yes, but I dont want to talk about that. When I sau acidic water, I mean high ph. Is that true? Would there be a better cichlid for a congo river basin biotype? It kind of defeats the purpose of a biotype. Any ideas.
