It looks like all us northern hemisphere guys are experiencing the onset of chillier autumn.

How long do you think it'll be before them southern hemisphere guys will be chirping in with their stories of sweltering summer as we freeze our nads off, lol.

Lol, I really don't think Cali-surfer-dudes really know what "winter" is...:)

We had our first hard frost last night, temps hit freezing for the first time this fall. Another couple days and all the water lily leaves will be dead; then I can bring the bulbs indoors to winter in the basement. Also have a dozen or so small spruce trees marked in the back fourty, another couple weeks and they will be transplanted to waiting holes in the yard.

Oh, hey...how's the pond coming? :)
I’m looking forward to the 40-50 degree winters here, is what I meant

Tut tut tut, you neanderthal. It is "more northernerer". And I thought you had a good grasp of our language, lol.
I have a decent grasp of my language, i.e. English...but your language, i.e. British, sometimes has me scratching my head...:)

I think I will stick to idiomatic Canadian from now on...eh? :)

Wednesday was a high of 85F and humid with a prediction of heavy rain, wind and hail though the latter 3 predictions failed to materialize.

Today at 2 P.M. it's 61F and windy, just blowing the leaves off some of the trees and a bit overcast.

So soon for a hard frost or is this about normal for your area? Ours is usually around late October.

We had a low of 3°C one night this week. I'm on tenterhooks now, forever checking what the projected night time figures are going to be. I usually wouldn't give a monkeys but I need to protect my banana plant from frosts, and we're getting close now.

Last week in September is pretty typical for us. Still going up into the 70F's most days.
