Finally our weather in NE Ohio has gotten more comfortable though it's a bit bizarre for this time of the year. We are supposed to be in the mid 70's F this week so finally giving the A/C a rest!

The recent scorching temps in blighty have become a lot more manageable over the past 24-48 hrs or so, and the forecast says it's going to stay that way too! Our weather over the past few weeks has been crazy, varying from seasonal averages right up to record busting 40+°C.

It's still way too premature to suggest that getting A/C installed is the way forward, because the odd temperature spike once in a while can't really justify it. We do however have a few powerful mobile fans which we get out when it gets too much, which have been a godsend, and of course our new "paddling pool" out the back, lol.

The latest oddball forecast for us to look forward to now are thunderstorms and flash floods thanks to all this clammy weather!!! Is there no end to all this freaky weather, lol.

It's been better up here too this week, we got some rain w/o intense storms.
I'm kind of shocked window ac units are not more popular in more of the world. Cheaper to get and to run than central air, just shove in a window and plug in, way cheaper if you just need to keep one room dry and cool.

Welcome to the forum.

To give your post a bit of context it'd be nice to know which part of this big old world you're from!

We spotted ten bald eagles and also saw a black bear swimming across the lake and then scrambling up the hillside

With the drought continuing in California, two consecutive La Nina winters, with an unprecedented third La Nina winter predicted our favorite lake is over 132' down. The lake is still beautiful even when low.
