Yeah, the amount of times I've done that. The thing is though, is it us who are genuinely dog tired, or is it the shows we're watching that are rubbish which send us to sleep? Lol.
.....could be a bit of both but I don't need for either of those stars to line up,if I get comfortable enough on my recliner it's just a matter of time before I'm off to never never land.

I hadn't really considered this show until it was mentioned here and I read up on it. I thought it was yet another boring show about the boring lives of a boring bunch of people living a boring existence. I much prefer complete escapism in my entertainment. It sounds like this might fit the bill...

I hope it doesn't follow the same path as The Walking Dead and so many other shows I have watched in the past. They start out with a good premise...hook their audience...and then, once they begin to make money, the focus shifts to simply squeezing every last drop of blood out of the stone before dropping it. I much prefer shows that have a beginning, tell a story, and then have a natural ending...but you don't see that much nowadays. Everything seems to want to end with the door open for a sequel, or another season, or...

Same with books. Does anybody recall the Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan? Long before they were made into a TV series, those books hit the fantasy scene with a big splash. The first 7 or 8 were terrific; but then they gradually slid downwards in quality until it was obvious that Jordan was now being paid by the word. I think they are now up to 13 or 14? Jordan is long deceased, but the golden pen was picked up by his son and also other authors, I think? The newest books are, relatively speaking, almost unreadable...I say that having read them, so I guess their plan worked...

....my interest in the show was piqued after hearing a few folks going on about it,it is supposed to be based on a video game,I'm not into games but they were really looking forward to seeing it so I thought I'd give it a try.
I figured it can't be too bad with the cable company behind it,most of their productions are pretty good and I enjoy the post apocalyptic/dystopia genre.

Movies or series based upon video games didn't really impress me for a long while; I rather enjoyed the first few Resident Evil flicks but that may have just been due to Milla Jovovich...:)

Then, I discovered The Witcher and it hooked me hard. Love that show; I think it is based upon the books, which I think were also the inspiration for the game, but don't know for sure and don't really need to.

I thought it might be worth a punt when I saw that Pedro Pascal was in it. He's been in a few things but I particularly liked him in "Narcos", one of my favourite shows of the past few years.

The problem I have with this new show is that if it turns out to be great and extremely gripping, we can't binge watch it! We have to patiently wait for each new episode. I hate that.

I'm watching "Yellowstone" at the minute. I flew through the first 4 seasons, watching 2 per night. Now I'm up to date and season 5 is a week by week thing. Frustrating.

Last of us is based on a video game, titled the same. Not a bad game I never finished it though, so I can't tell you how this ends. So far though this works very closely to the game.

On another note has anyone watched Andor?
I really liked it. Compared to anything starwars related in the last 10years except for the mandalorian. I typically hate prequels.

I thought Andor was exceptionally written, but was just such a bore to actually watch. I’m hoping that season 2 picks up the pace (especially considering it takes place over a much longer time frame).
Can’t wait for mando season 3 though!

I didn't find it "boring" it was a little slow in spots I thought though. With everything I've got going on (and maybe it's my age too) if it's not interesting I'm like esoxlucius esoxlucius and jjohnwm jjohnwm sleeping.
I'm just glad the didn't mess it up like they did with Solo and book of boba and rogue 1 for that matter. They made it seem I guess "real".
I'm with you can't wait for season 3.

Has anyone checked out The Last of us?
My daughter watched it and says it's good. I'm going to wait for the 2nd episode release and watch both because I know I will want to watch past the part of the story where the 1st episode ends. Loved the game and the show appears to follow the story in the game pretty close.

Somebody on here... esoxlucius esoxlucius I think?...recommended the movie "Life" awhile back. It finally cropped up on my feed, stumbled upon it last night on either Prime or Netflix, and gave it a watch. A little formulaic...what isn't?...but nevertheless an entertaining flick! Effective ending.

My wife and I disagreed vehemently on the role of the biologist in the movie; you know, the doofus playing with the little critter when it was still the size of a dog's booger. He makes the greatest scientific discovery in human history...and treats it like his personal toy/pet. She felt strongly sympathetic towards him; I thought he was an idiot, acted irresponsibly and was completely to blame for all the horror that ensued.
