Not planning on keeping any of those. What about gar? Alligator or spotted?

two more braces will be added this weekend I hope!

then i will get it filled up!

All three braces are in. Each has two 12” screws on each side. 4 total each brace. Going to start adding about 6” of water a day and let it slowly fill up. Have a plan and most everything prepared for the filtration but no rush to move the fish so i’ll be taking my time. Plus i want to get the corners and everything settled in.

any concern with having gar in here? I know teeth can be long and point.

Happy to see the progress.

I personally would try to avoid metal staples, unless they are SS, not only because they will rust but also if they fall off into the pond, its a puncture hazard.

On paper, anything toothy and spiny can be a puncture hazard on liner. In reality, I am not sure. Only kept various gars on liner like yours for a couple of years (no issues), so cannot predict for the longer term than this.

They do shed or lose their needle-like teeth also btw.

One issue I can see with a Gator gar is the way they feed , with a side swipe motion. If it happen to be near the side or trying to pick a piece of fish off the bottom, it could be possible that a tooth could hit the liner.
But I think the risk of that is probably low. That wouldn’t stop me from keeping one just something to be aware of.
Great looking project so far btw.
