Started to do a water change and the nightly treatment and its shell looks way different than it did in the morning… as if whatever layer was on top of it has come off? Not sure what I’m looking at:headshake bone maybe? Maybe it’s supposed to look really bad/weird before it starts getting better

Edit: & no i don’t do wc bucket by bucket🤣 just to suck out whatever poop the turtle left on her side

I have no idea, it's a shame that no one has chimed in honestly.

Doing treatment again today and it’s so strange. The other day it looked as if everything on the shell had came off like shown. Today it looks hairy again. Forgot to take a pic before the silvadine treatment. Positive note it looks like it’s improving overall

Is it looking any better? This thread is stressing me out. Lol
Here’s some pics of it from right now before drying out the shell & with the shell dried. Just did another round of silvadine treatment. Honestly looks the same compared to the past week. Looks like it’s getting bigger but maybe it’s the shell shedding? No clue. Stressing me tf out

From the changes that I’ve seen this past week though is that the wound isn’t getting any deeper. Before it would just worsen and grow deeper as if it was rotting away. Now it’s just this algae textured thick film that grows over it and it goes away after a water change (which I will be doing one again tonight). Turtle hasn’t shown any changes in behavior, still eating everything like a champ. And the wound has gotten a bit wider but not deeper. Looks like the shell around is shedding off and losing color. It’s been stressful but still keeping up with all the treatments and water changes. Also added a **** ton of coral rock to drive the PH up.
