I’ve finally started the process of site prep for a planned 210 gallon Frontosa aquarium. The tank and stand will be delivered in the first two weeks of July, so I’m starting to get excited for the project. Thanks to all the contributors to this forum, especially

, for responding to my dozens of questions as I thought through the process.
Today, I sorted out the electrical backend. I needed to install a GFCI outlet on the 6-foot span where the tank will sit. A bit of a mess, as I had to run the wire beneath a load-bearing beam behind my drywall, but at the end it turned out beautifully.
The outlet is powered from a dedicated 15 amp circuit - now triumphantly marked “fish” in my panel - which is connected to a Generac automatic propane generator system. This way, if the power goes out the generator will automatically kick in and keep my fish alive.
I’ll keep updating this thread as I move through the process of the build.
