So if any of you read my thread from a little bit ago ( which I’m sure you all did lol) I mentioned how I wanted to get some bichirs. I went to my lfs today and traded in a few fish for three bichirs. Still have some trading in to do but it’s a start. Grabbed a platinum Senegal, and endli ( I know I should’ve gotten him later) and an ornate ( I know might get a little big but I’m prepared to rehome if necessary. I’ll rehome a few more of my fish and then hopefully grab a delhezi and maybe 1 more. I snapped a few pics of them.

Day one pics of them. They all seem to be settling in pretty well. The endli, named bam bam( he looked like a bambo shark to my fam) and bob the platinum seem a little more outgoing. Leopold the ornate ( he looks kinda like leopard spots) seems a little more prone to hiding as I haven’t seen him a ton.

Love the Platinum!
Ty he might be my fav to.
Update: they all ate yesterday including Leopold the ornate, though he stayed under his driftwood where he’s been. After reading some old friends I’d take a gander and say my ornate might be a little similar to the one jjohnwm jjohnwm had. He’s hiding and when the lights go on in the morning I see him out for a bit but then he retreats back to his cave. Hopefully he becomes a bit more social though. Any way to help with that? ( pardon the glass it’s a little dirty I should clean it) I tried taking some pics but I couldn’t get any good ones I’ll try again later.

Update! They are all doing great. Platinum and endli are really settling in and the ornate is still a little shy but getting better and coming out more and more. Got a few picks but couldn’t get any good ones of the ornate.

I got a few questions. I was thinking of adding a few more bichirs like a Palmas, lap, and delhezi. I have a little experience with the delhezis but I can’t find a ton of info on the Palmas and laps, like size, color, etc. do you guys think they would all mesh well together or would that be to many? You should be fine. Palmas, delhezi are upper jaws, similar to Senegal bichirs you currently have so they would be okay together. CB laps are really slow growers after 12”, should be ok with the others.

Should be alright but laps generally don't look too great on black substrate (no contrast) unless you like that dark look.
