Natural sunlight would be awesome! Sadly, my tanks are all in the basement, so no chance. I've seen some really boss setups using light pipes to direct sunlight into an aquarium. Definitely something I would consider if I was building a house and fish room.

Wow! That is gorgeous! Hey, wait a minute... That looks like salt water tank, is it?

I want to get a couple of those Bichir fish, I need to get some new fish to spice things up! It's my understanding that variety is the spice of life and I like my life extra spicy!

I took a few close up pics, this way I can keep showing off from a different angle! Now listen, 2 of the pics are NOT hobby specific so it's best I Self Report MYSELF!

Parka Parka , Self Reporting, with my Land Mistress's new puppies, Niko and Otto... I REALLY wanted to name 'em, Vigor & Gusto!!! Anyway, see for yourself! We have crates, a playpen and a closed off potty area on the deck and so it is going really good, they seem like fast and bright learners. They are so eager to play and I think it will be a breeze to train these little guys, and since I'm home all day, they will get plenty of my attention, so fun, so much fun watching them play hard! And then I can crate them because they are wiped out tired. And then after a couple hours they romp again! Lil Angels is what they are!

Now these next two pics, it's the Giant Danios. This first one is a prime example of very handsome Danio.
Healthy.jpg

And this one, my guess is that it is a female full of eggs, its body is sorta bent outta shape, hang in there Pretty Swimmer! I have probably about 3 dozen Giant Danio fry still growing up in the Akron and soon all the fry will join their extended families in the Mighty Chicago.

I started with 4 of these Blue Gouramis but three of them, well I think those circulation filters gobbled 'em up. I replaced all circ pumps with air stones, very good choice. It's always easiest for me to learn the hard way. I am really liking the look of this fish now that it has grown a bit, they get a good size, 6" long and they are deep bodied, the Pearl Gourami, it doesn't get quite as big as the Blue but the Pearl variety is even more elegant and colorful, I want 4 more Blues and a half dozen Pearl Gouramis, I'm going to the box store pet shops this Sunday. Petco and Petsmart.

And these or this, I have 4, Buenos Aires Tetra and I think this is the largest of all the Tetras...? I hope to be corrected if I'm mistaken. I'd like to get more of these also.

Now this last pic, it's an oddball situation for sure. Now listen Dummies, It has been said that I, ME, am not that Clumsy. However, that is a highly debatable topic.
I was in the bathroom today, at my side, fully dressed sans footwear, I even had my walker in front of me, some how I still lost balance, slo-mo clumsy stumbled all the way to the other side of bathroom and with my rear end taking charge, I ended up BUTTING a big hole in the wall, a Butt Hole! See for yourself! It happened and it hurt, I hit hard. I'm glad I split the studs, had I butted a stud, I may have had a serious injury, instead all's I got is a sore ass! For Real!

Good EVENING and Happiest Halloween!

Yikes! You really "hit the wall". Glad the damage was all of a repairable nature. New butts are hard to come by.

My last senescent pearl gourami just died a couple days ago. They are a noble fish. I've heard that Buenos Aires Tetras are plant eaters.

Yes, the picture I pulled of the net was a saltwater tank.

Those pups look very content and comfortable!

My tailbone is still sore! I had to sleep on my side for a couple nights. Now, there IS a song about falling down and getting back up, We can sing it later, Okay?

'Senescent', I learned a new word... before I looked that word up I thought it was going to be related to meaning, shiny and colorful, or something along those lines.

I have been occasionally losing Goldfish and it is NOT from senescence, I like to hope to think that fish that get sick, they get a lump on their belly but i hope the fish that died did so because of bad breeding stock? Over the past three years, this has been going on since I started, one of my Goldfish might swell up and die 3 months later.

All of the Koi have never shown any signs of ill health or distress and I do keep up with water changes so again, I'm not sure why all of my Goldfish don't get sick?

Anyway, I got some new fish over the weekend, I got a pair of tiny Bichirs! I also picked up 4 more of the Blue Gouramis and I am plenty excited about My Baby Monsters, the Bichirs! They are only about 2 inches long so I expect a fish of this type to gain some size pretty quick. I haven't seen both Bichirs at the same time yet but I saw one eating after just a few hours being set loose in the Mighty Waters of Chicago! I'm gettin it on!

In other exciting news, the Giant Danio fry, I will be removing them from the Akron to also be relocated with their kin in the Mighty Chicago!

And that means, now I can finish the take down of Akron and move it across the basement into the fish room. Which means things will start to happen with NYC of Plywood Aquariums, I CAN do it....(easier with a helper) but I can do it alone until it comes time to tip for the glass install. I WILL have a helper for the tip-over, a helper for the glass install AND a helper for the tip-upright.

More Chatter at MY CONVENIENCE!

Indeed I did forget Big News...

Parka Parka , Self Reporting!

It's about my Pictus Catfish, when I got one stuck in a net I had to get the net cut and the sad Cat had net material stuck on its pectoral fins. I must report GREAT news, the net pieces, I saw them on the floor of the tank. The Troubled Cat had actually 'shed' parts of its pectoral and anal fins and the Cat looks to be doing just fine and my guess is that this fish will re-grow or regenerate the damaged fins.

It's pretty tough to get good pics of the Pictus, I have a group of seven and they all hang around together under some wood. The cat on left is the one that got injured. She is on the mend, it looks very encouraging.

I only have one picture to show off today and it's not aquarium related so it's Best I Self-Report.

Parka Parka , Self Reporting!

Remember that hole that I butted in the wall? Holy Smokes, the studs are on 16" centers and I nailed it dead center, and I still have a sore tailbone. The drywall collapsed and probably help lessen the impact. I just feel lucky that I didn't butt a stud, but look what I made! My Land Lady hasn't seen it yet. She saw the hole but not the Holiday Decor.

Should I color it in? ALL Monsters, Dummies, Friends AND Lovers, are invited to advise!!!

In other exciting news, I have a pair of those Bichir fish, super tiny, no bigger than a Kuhli Loach and so I feel like it is a excellent addition to the Mighty Waters of Chicago. I also dropped nine of Giant Danio fry into Chicago and today I didn't see them but most likely they are up near the top in all water lettuce roots.

I probably have at least 20 or 30 more Giant Danio fry still in the Akron. Not for long!

I already got My FAUX UP, Fixed Up, I made My Inner Junkie do it! Alls I had to do was reminice about the early 90's and how much fun we had when we Partied with the Dry Wall crew, now those guys stayed high! Not ME! But yeah, My Inner Junkie, he is SO easy to distract with stories from Yesteryear... And that's how I get him to do some work, so I can Loaf About!
Turkey Block.jpg

I decided to get that hole repaired BEFORE I empty the gravel From the Hard Working Akron, okay, GOOD EVENING!
