Hi mate will the unistrut be load bearing as this would be seriously under strength and will not support the weight of the tank nevermind with water in.
Ive built all my own stands from 25mm box section and when i make the stand for my new 350g i will have a 5ft gap under the front of the tank so i can get to my sump,i probably wont be using a centre post but i will be using 50mm box section as the front support beam.
With the unistrut the strength is in the cable not the unisrut, just trying to save you from a disaster buddy and just to clear things up ive been a sheetmetal worker/fabricator for 20+ years

most of the load will be on the pilers

this unistrut is 40mm and the centre down post will be double 40mm so 80mm wide

i looked at my tank stand now and its only made with thinner wood than this laid accross the top

i think this should be more then enoght

look at the way this tank is made for a comparison

you can buy the mini RSJs from any electrical wholesalers its called unistrut

that stuff is super strong the guys at work put multi 50mm armoured cables on it as its used to fix cable tray and basket work

i will have a double centre piler from the same stuff that will be removable to get the sump in and out
Cheers fella, never know i might have some lying around at work anyway:D

Was thinking the span looked a bit much but if you're center supporting it then hopefully it'll work.

Ok buddy was just trying to help, but if you lean on the wood now i bet it moves,so what would it do with alot more weight on it/
Also when you take the centre post out,if you can get it out it may cause the tank to bow,but anyway good luck and keep the pics coming.
Did you say nd were building the tank for you?

you can walk all over the middle with no bow the unistrut is only to give a little more support

their will be another sheet of 1 inch ply on top of that so 2 inch of ply total

the centre bar will be removed to get the sump in then put back in the double base of the tank which will be 34mm total will lay on top of that then another 1 inch of Styrofoam

the unitrut only spans less than 24inch if you look at some steel frame stands they only have a centre support then the tank rests on the frame around the outside

i know you are only trying to help but i have seen tanks bigger than this on wood frames this is concrete block as main supports it should be fine

yes ND are buildind Wens
