Here are some photos of the final plumbing setup. The sponge filter is now in place, overflows from the 600G acrylic to the pond have been completed, and I have suspended the pump that feeds the 600G a few inches above our main filter intakes.

There are two reasons not to let it sit on the floor, first we are going to have sand in here and that sand would get sucked into the pump potentially damaging it. But my biggest concern is for possible breaks in the PVC, if someday we have a crack in the PVC line going to the 600G or the overflows fail and the pump was on the pond floor it would drain the entire pond. This way the worst it can do is drain it about 50% and our main filters will keep on running.

The way I suspended it above the floor was to take a 4 way PVC Cross, attach short PVC pipes to 2 of the ends and cap them, and then attach the pump to one and the output line to the other. The two capped ends of the cross hold it up with the assistance of a corner brace on the pond. I also put a Union just below the brace so I can still remove the pump if I ever need to.

Since the last plumbing update we have also added a 1HP chiller we had laying around to the system. We have an air conditioning unit for the room to keep it cool in the summer, but figured might as well toss it on there just incase since it was there.

As you can see from the pictures we have already filled the pond, I will have more photos of the pond itself in a few minutes.

Here are some photos of the pond filled with water and partially operational. We have the pumps for the bead filter and for the 600G tank running. Currently waiting on silicone to dry on the sponge filter. The filter while very effective at mechanical filtration could use better seals, had a few leaks on it, decided to take it apart and silicone it to death.

So far everythings working good, no leaks in the pond and all the PVC leaks have been repaired. Waters already got a little bio blume, probably thanks to the old sand in the 600G. Got a little video showing the whole room.

We have 500lbs of CaribSea Torpedo Beach on the way. After some recent discussion on rays and sand damaging some peoples acrylic I decided not to risk it with pool filter sand, Torpedo Beach I know from experience won't stick to them or cloud the water.

With the 600G acrylic tank added into the mix this actually ended up being a 3100 Gallon build, maybe 3200 gallons, i figure that bead filter has to hold atleast 100G in it.

If all is well we will probably move our motoro males in here tomorrow or Sunday and get the cycle going, already have a bit of a bio blume, probably from the old sand in the 600G. It should be easy enough to keep the ammonia under control while it cycles with just 2 12-14" motoros in 3100 gallons.
