1100 set up

I have a couple that were given to me. a friend buys them small and when they get big he gives them away. Mine are albinos. Your's are huge.
I haven’t bought a fish personally for so long just because of this. That jag was given to me for the exact same reason. Also the other two cichlids, a bumble bee cat, the albino barbs, all the silver dollars and all the pleco’s. And of course the thee weather loaches yesterday!

A friend of mine gave me some very large weather loaches, I didn’t realize how big they get. He needed to get rid of them because they would lay against his overflow and stop the flow of water to his sump. I guess they like the water flow going over their bodies or something. With in 30 minutes of putting them in my tank they went into my over flow and were resting on the filter pad.
I added some egg crate to my overflows to keep this from happening. It works great but I don’t like the white. Stands out to much. I may paint them black or brown. View attachment 1448803View attachment 1448804View attachment 1448805View attachment 1448806

BEAUTIFUL tank and setup. I haven't been on here in a few years and this was the first thread I read. Loved it. Keep up the awesome work!

Welcome back! Thanks for checking it out. This site has way less traffic than it use to, sad. Still a lot of great information though.

Never had any issues with it eating tankmates?
No, the AUL is so dumb. I named him “Genius” because it’s so frustrating watching him try to find food. The Niger cat is so fat because I need to keep feeding until the cat is full and just swims away from the food. Then Genius realizes there food and starts looking. Other fish actually take food out of its mouth. The AUL will chew up big pieces of fish and spit it out to adjust the food. Then the smaller fish will take the chewed food lol.

Quick update. I bought a lid for the huge sump. It it in half and pit that half on. Hopefully this helps a little with evaporation and the splashing. I like it! The other half will go in later after I plumb in the 450 tanks pumps and drains. 4882CBEB-886B-4043-9C5B-0342B70FBF0D.jpegA0448BC0-2F3E-41E8-A258-83DEDC22A83A.jpeg06C26704-ED3E-4B6D-A6E6-7D7898A9390E.jpeg10C33AF1-1D9B-414F-8620-6E6177843287.jpeg
