Those are beautiful breeding colors on those silver dollars. Do you know who is eating their fins? It is quite intense!
Is it among themselves (males biting each other?) I have not had that happened with my fish.
Beautiful tank and fish! Thanks for sharing.

Egon Egon , fantastic set up, great thread. As fantastic as all those fish are though, time and time again my eyes just get drawn to that Bala Shark! It's huge, it's possibly the biggest one i've seen on this site, or anywhere for that matter. It looks like it could be around the 14-16" mark? How big is it and how old do you think it is?

The male SD’s are eating the females fins. Seems like a good strategy, it really slows them down ;)

I just had this VHS (I’m old) handy so I figured it’s a good visual for size. It’s about 14 years old. I bought 5 of these for my 360 in my previous house. So it’s a good guess on the age of this fish. I’m going to grow out more in my 450 “grow out tank” soon. I just plumbed that a couple days ago and filling it this Wednesday. Check out my 450 thread if your interested. It’s a very old thread so you can see pics of this Bala when it was smaller.3FC0447F-0E06-4396-847A-2DFEC27FB7C5.jpeg

amazing tank wow! that lungfish and ripsaw cat are monsterous! that redtail gourami is big too!

and I love the huge dats
Thank you! I’m really happy with the way it all turned out. Even the room worked out better than I thought. It’s quiet and easy to feed the fish with the feeding doors. I had an in the wall tank in my last house but could only feed the fish from the back of the tank then run around and watch them eat. I worked out a whole bunch of “if I could do it over” questions. The sump is super easy to maintain. The central air system, above the water line, with adjustable individual valves. Everything worked out!

How did you install your background and make sure it sticks to the acrylic? I remember installing a background on my 180g and because I did not silicone it there were lots of water behind it along with build up of just gunk. Did you stick the background to the acrylic or do you just plan on pulling it to clean behind it?
