Hope it works. My flagtail is growing well, maybe you just had an "odd" one. Those red line barbs only grow to 6 inch so not so good really.
 
any updates? New fish?

I had to put the barbs down. :(

no improvement with the meds, spent a lot of cash trying to save them..

each dose of a tank this size was $15..the metro came in 100g dose bottles lol

cleaned up the tank, went to the store and came back with the only thing nice:

fans of my old stock list will be happy again haha

although I tell you, if I can find nice barbs again, things could change..

I LOVED the way they looked in the tank.

none of the stores around me had any tinfoils..other than ones with no colour at a size that they should or that had giant eyes on a small body (ie stunted/poor growth)..

not really sure what my stocking list will be, I am playing it by ear.

it all depends really on whether or not the LFS's in my area can get some quality fish in..

Sorry to hear, but you gave it a shot, it was the right call to make. How did you kill them? I'm always interested in the best way.
 
I always use the freezer method when possible as I believe it is the most humane way to do it. others may disagree though. but no one can know for sure..

the water cools down, their metabolism slows right down, they essentially go to sleep, and thats it.

I hate pulling the container out after though. its sad.
