You are really doing well with your 125. I like the selection of fish and I actually also keep a group of 15 clown loaches, a shoal of elephant nose and a black ghost knife. Of course these are not in my big tanks. I do have a dozen or more rainbow sharks in the big tank but with so much lava rock they avoid most of the big predators and have done so for the past 7 years.

I don't know why I didn't see this post earlier... Thank you for the compliments, your tanks are the reason I wanted to start keeping bigger tanks in the first place!

Thanks man! Keep looking, deals are out there. Try posting a wanted to buy ad on your region of the MFK buy/sell section as well--lots of MFKers like to help each other out, you'd be surprised.

So an actual update on the tank... Got rid of two of the elephant noses, and now have 6 clown loaches, also added 5 Densoni barbs, soon to be 10 (they are wild caught and not cheap!).

Just read the whole thread. Nice work! Maybe you could borrow Jk47's camera & take a few pics. How are you liking that FX5?
JK47's camera is a ghetto little digital camera, and due to a chance encounter with his pit bull's wagging tail, is now in even worse shape! ;)
We do have a mutual friend with a nice camera though, I've been meaning to see about some nice pictures getting taken.

The fx5 is a great filter, but I personally am not satisfied with it as the sole method of filtration on this size tank. I will eventually add another large filter, mainly for mechanical filtration. Thinking about a Nu-Clear model.

I am planning on putting a 3D background in the tank, and adding large live plants. I have already upgraded the lighting to 260 watts of PC.

I've had good success w/ the *cheap* Sun-Sun filters on eBay. I've had a 302 & 303 up & running on my 72 for close to a year now & just bought the 304 (530gph) which arrived today. Gonna run a 303 & 304 on my 120. Worth giving them some consideration simply due to their price. A 303 would work great for you, & the added benefit of a UV light is a nice bonus.

Are the pics in the thread your old light or new light?

Old lights. They were t8s that came with the tank. The new lights are two dual PC fixtures with built in LED moonlights.

Hey that little ghetto POS I mean P&S gets some decent pics (like 2 out of every 50.. more like it) It just takes a half hour or so to turn it on now.. lol

Sonny is going to come over and shoot some SLR full tank shots of my setups soon. Maybe we can talk him into heading to your place too? Really cool guy. You have any updated pics of your BGK? :naughty:

I don't think you can send photos with a P.M., so I'm going to clutter up your thread a bit. :D

This is the tank that could be yours!

The 185G is the blue fiberglass, but that one isn't for sale - I built it 21 years ago, so there's a lot of sentimental attachment... ;)
