Adding a turtle will turn the whole setup into a turtle tank. It will need a dry basking area with heat lamp and strong UVB lamp. So that either means dropping the water level 1/4 or building a big canopy like I had to do which using the lightest possible wood and sizes is a beast to lift!
Plus all those plants would be gone and you'd have to remove the gravel for rocks bigger than the turtles head or they will eat them and possibly become impacted. Not to mention females lay eggs like chickens; even if there is no male. And they are picky pains in the neck about where they lay. If they don't like what you provide they will retain them possibly to the point of death.
Not trying to be negative, just sayin what I go through all the time. When a normal tank gets a plant, real or fake, it's not too hard to put in and stay. Even with oscars. I have to tornado proof my entire enclosure.
