Why didn't you design this tank with bigger viewing windows? I assume that there is going to be at least one more. how think glass are you going with or are you getting acrylic?

All boils down to price. If I were rich then most of this tank would be glass, but since I am doing this on an extremely tight budget it gets two 4' x 2' windows. Was contemplating adding a third small window in between the other two, but haven't decided yet. it would be 2'x2' if I do it. It will be acryllic and 1" thick. If I had made the viewing area 3' x 10' x 1.5" like I wanted to the cost of the acryllic would have been outrageous. I'm only paying like a 5th of the cost of that large of a window, and going with the height that I have chosen will save me about half of what just another foot of height would have costed. Staying with 1" thick for safety reasons. Thinking of the residents full grown, and most will weigh 50+ lbs. Origionally this had been thought up as a pond, now it's a pondarium!!!:headbang2

Right at 11' today. Down to the last 8'. Decided to put in the third window. If I would have known it would end up like this I would have just put 3 windows in at 4' instead of how it is now. Oh well. live and learn.

For pics there's how the 4000 gal looks right now, there's some pics of the 200 gal and the rails stained and ready to put on. There's also a pic of a lil friend that I need to ID that was there with me all day. Looks really wicked!

That bug looks more like a Bird... if they used it on Fear Factor I think they would need to use a knife and fork to get that dang thing down LOL
