lol. Yeah someone else had mentioned about being interested in seeing it in action, but rest assured there will be ply inside and out, outrageous top rails, and tons of bracing on the outside of it. I need to do up some more sketches so that everyone can get an idea of what I am talking about. Maybe I am crazy, but we'll see if it works. I'm pretty positive that it will. My water depth is only going to be around 38" deep when it's all said and done.

I think with top rails and some cross bracing, this design is going to be overbuillt if anything.

Necro, where you getting all that sand man? gonna be a small beach in there.

Oh I'm sure that it will work, I'm more interested to see what the overall bow is for a wall that is relativly thin for a tank this size. This type of construction should prove to be quite strong and I'm very interested to see just how strong :D
I'll measure the bow so that everyone can see. How would you measure the bowing anyway? I'm thinking you put a flat board against it and however far the ends are from the wall is the amount of bowing you have. I'm hoping that my bracing plan will help prevent much bowing.

They sell white sand at a local cement yard here for pretty cheap. There's not going to be as much sand as there is rocks. I can get polished rocks here for around $50 a ton. They around 2-4" dia.

Ummmm... small beach?? For that much sand he's going to need to rob quite a few playgrounds
Hmmm, there's one right dow the road from me!!!

Welcome to MFK, and yes it will stay in the garage. There's no where to put it in the house, and I'm not moving it unless I move. Would require a forklift, and probably a small crane. When it's finished I expect that the structure alone will weigh more than a ton.

Have to go in for training today, so I'll probably resume work tomorrow. Also going to have a lil more funding to buy some more of the plywood. Ply will probably costs a pretty penny!

to measure the front bow run a line (taught string) from the two front corners & measure from the line to the front

rear bow & sides, same idea

Sounds good. I'll definitely do it. I'll even measure it everyday during the fill test to see if it is increasing any.
