Ok here's a ton of pics from today. There's pics of the ply I added to the side. There's pics of the feeding/maintenance port I added to the back of the tank. Then there's pics of some of the lighting that I am using on this. I know it's not the most powerful light but I couldn't really beat the price. 2 lights for $60 shipped. There's pics with one light only off and on. The box says it produces 500 watts of light, but only uses 65 watts. Going to make some ports on the sides to side mount these, and eventually get a third one for the top. Oh, and the one pic of the light from above, I've dubbed tank-O-lantern.:nilly::headbang2

Oh and there's a pic of all the lumber cut to size for the last wall. Working on that tomorrow

Hey necro, how are you planning to treat the outside of the tank, if at all? With my ply tank I absolutely doused everything in epoxy from the inside, and then sprayed the outside with gelcoat as well just to seal it in case the wood was exposed to drips where I could not see.

Something you might want to consider for the inside would be renting a chopper gun - it would have that whole inside coated in a couple of hours worth of work, as opposed to several long sweaty, stinky days. At least getting an HVLP gun to spray on the gelcoat instead of rolling or brushing it on will be a huge help.

I actually have someone who wants to spray my tank for me, just so that he can get some use out of his gun made for this stuff. I'm guessing like what you mentioned. I'm thinking about fiberglassing it inside and out, gelcoating it inside. Then probably going to paint over the fiberglass on the outside. I might even jack up the front of the tank so that I can hit it underneath also. Not sure, I just know it will take a ton of epoxy, and gelcoat lol. Where would you rent a chopper gun? Is that pretty much what you use to spray bedliners?
