It would cost so much more. For glass that big it would also have to be thick to keep from bowing and breaking.

Great build so far keep up the good work and good luck with the job :headbang2
i was thinking maybe four to six different pieces not just one but yeah it would cost more but it'll allow one to see the whole tank from above

Top View Input:

Gray = Stainless steel braces and support for glass or plexiglass
Blue = glass or plexiglass
Black = hinges for the glass to open and close
brown = wood

not the best with computers but heres an input of what i think the top would look best like but i still think the tank is very very impressive!

It's sitting right where it will be in the end. As for the top it's going to have 2 4'x4' sections that I can remove to view it from above.

Necro,
A chopper gun is a set up that mixes the resin and hardener at a desired ratio, and has a spool of fiberglass that is auto fed into the stream of mixed resin.
There is an adjustable "CHOPPER" that cuts the fiberglass strands at a desired length. This method is used in production of boat hulls, fiberglass tubs and shower enclosures..etc. It produces a layup similar to using mat type fiberglass...

This is what a portable unit looks like...
the fiberglass strands are fed through those stainless guides, to the gun where it is chopped...
I need to find one of these! I could have some serious fun with it.
