Sounds like its going to be an awsome tank, The rtc is an awsome fish which gets to good size very quick. I want to build up to rtc's eventually. Great work.
I think anyone can own rtc if they do it right and are dedicated enough.:headbang2

Thanks, and if that cat is free consider it done lol.

Thanks! To me it's No.1 though lol.

Tell me about it. I'd be out working on it 24/7 if I didn't have bills to pay lol

I was actually thinking about just using the mat on all the seems, like the corners and where the boards meet on the ply. Then just a coat of resin over the rest with the gel coat over top. I'm really tight with my money. I'll ask everyone I know if they have some extra supplies lying around and see what I can come up with. lol You're right though my qoute on my price is for just the resin and gel coat. I already have about 100 sq ft of fiber mat just sitting around. I've been buying it up little by little everytime I go to a hardware store.

I already have about 2 gals of resin sitting around, and about 100 sq ft of mat. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but it helps. Buying 5 gals of resin from the fg shop locally for $150, and buying 10 gals of gel coat. I'll have to look up the exact names, but the gel coat is a tooling gel coat that costs $125 for 5 gals, and comes with hardener. Going to cost me around another $100 to pigment it black.

I'll hopefully have pics up later tonight if I have a chance. did a little more to the last wall.
Neco just glass the corner real good and lay some mat when you gel coat the thing. I work for a boat manufacture and work with the stuff everyday, tooling gel coat have resin mix in it so it would get hard just like the regular resin would. Also make sure your laying a woven type mat for strength and not the chop type.

:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2Forgot to mention that the tank is coming along good, can't wait to see it fill and operational so I can use some of your idea when I start mine if you don't mind.

Are you referring to "Roving"?

Cool I'll keep that in mind. I have the chop now, but I'll probably use your idea as I'd like the extra strength. Also since you're in the biz how many sq ft can gel coat cover on average?

Thanks! Feel free, I just would love to see more people fufilling their dream tanks, while filling them also lol.

I think he's talking about woven roving like in the picture below. I'd hate to have to weave it myself lol.

I did a test run with schwan's today and I' think I'm gonna go for it! Might have some extra cash to use on the tank, build, but my funding is still off for the time being. I'm still saving what I have right now so that when I'm sure I'm in the clear I can just spend a good chunk of change on the tank right away and hopefully get most of it finished!
