1st time sump opinions needed

Thx man.

Do you guys just hand tighten the unions or wrench them ? Plumbing tape ?

Got allot done yesterday. The return line is done just have to glue everything, drill the siphon break, and paint the return nozzle with krylon fusion black. I took dn328 advice about 45° elbows so i ripped out the 90°s but then found that the pumbing couldnt be easily disconnected so i installed a union.

Have most of the drain mocked up but cant really finish it untill the sock holder arives. Was gonna do eggcrate but cant find any locally.

Dont stress about 90* if you need it. I use them too and if you have a sufficient pump you will be fine. I like 90* because, well, I just needed them and in some cases just looked cleaner running lol. It's your tank and as long as you work in the parameters it will be fine and the way YOU want it.

Thx man. No big deal replacing the 90's as nothing is glued yet.

this was a good idea building this little sump. I learned allot that i can carry over to larger builds.
