Awsome Man! That stand is amazing, very cool. Great Job! Incorporating the stand into the design/aquascaping of the tank makes it look so much more professional. Excellent Job.

Looks great. Might try some of the greenary at the tops of the bamboo also. just a thought. I've got a few ideas up my sleeve for my big tank build to help it out looks-wise! Great job!
Thanx. I did try a little up on top but I think I need to include it with the canopy.

Thanx Precision. I may take time off the tank to start working on the ornaments. Lots going on - need a change of pace. Check out the wood piece below

This is a piece of some crazy looking wood I found on the floor in the corner of a florist shop. (Check out the bark and underlying wood in second pic). A friend told me he thinks it it Australian in origin. Anyway, I had a few ideas for it so I took it to the folks at Polymer Composites to see how it could be sealed for underwater use. They mixed up a water based sealer and asked me to try it out.

I poured it over the wood and let it soak in several times. I'll let it dryout for a few days and then see what happens. You can see the dried sealer on top of the wood.

That would be part of a Cholla Cactus skeleton, found all over the SW US deserts. Hope you didn't pay too much for it. The sealer is a good idea because I used a nice piece in one of my tanks and it deteriorated pretty quickly, although it looked amazing.

That thing makes me want a Mai Tai and a really loud shirt.
Hopefully when this is done you'll need a lot of loud shirts. And believe me I've had more than my share of "Mai Tai's" puttin this thing together.

Thanx FM. I'll look up the cactus.
No, didnt pay much for it at all. This piece is floating in some water right now to test out the sealer. I'm sure you had to weigh yours down because this stuff is really buoyant.

*claps* Bravo! I really love how the tank is not the only thing to look at, but the stand and trim are pieces of art themselves! This tank is amazing, I could only imagine what you could do with a bigger one...

The cholla wood will stay buoyant since it is sealed and there is no way for the air to escape.
