When I first posted I didn't realize the valves came off the FX5. I've never seen one in real life only in pictures. I'm all about safety and redundancy, though, that's why I suggested the shutoff valves. I've been doing fish tanks and filters for over 30 years and I've seen things break when you least expect it but since it isn't my tank and I won't have to drain it if something goes wrong I really don't give a crap. I was trying to help you out and give you a well thought out suggestion but since you already know everything.......:thumbsup:

Sounds like you covered most of your bases. The problem I though of had to do with you not being home at the time it leaked.

If you were out for a few hours or if you were sleeping it would drain all the way down. But no worries. :)

looking good still, hope yours is going smoother than mine at the moment. new eletric blue hap is trying to eat all my syno pectricolas and this new yellow peacock i got is getting picked on horrible! all started yesterday, i really need to put some pics up too.

everybodys doing good, im happy with the turn out! nothing ever gets too agro where i worry and the tanks established where everyone knows their boundaries now! theres been alot of digging and one of the tetras started to dig in the open which is strange cuz ive never seen this before! all are growing and coloring up well! my kigomas have a real nice blue all over and the boulengerochromis's black are coming out and my cyps that are growing out in my tropheus tank are starting to show some color now!...

dang man, hope u figure something out with that! sucks loosing fish! but yeah man your pics are long over due!
