250g stocking

so many tough choice really, i think the sailfin is a must for sure, I'm just having trouble choosing between the eels and the pbass, they're around the same in terms of likability for me so I'm looking for a median. between the eels and pbass to have both

I honestly think the p-bass with the pim would look the best. But that is just my opinion.

is one eel possible? if not then ill stick with your recommendation an probably go with 4 kelberi pbass (1m3f) and the sailfin pim

i do agree that the mid section would look great with the bass though, Ill likely pick those over the eels in the end if they don't fit in.

I wouldn't recommend the eel, honestly. Unless you get the eel in a huge size, it will just be a very expensive noodle for the pbass, not to mention the catfish. If you want a "fuller" tank look, I'd go with the pbass and the pim.

Plus, the moray will likely hide a lot, and they are insanely expensive for eels. Pbass IMO is much more affordable (considering we're talking about juveniles here).

alright thanks for everyone’s help, i’ll end up getting 3-5 kelberi pbasses and a sailfin pim for the 250g

Along the pbass lines, I would start with 3. I think three bass and the sailfin will give you a full house.

Later though, if you think the tank can hold another bass or two, then go for it. But the bass will gladly fill in the space you have in that tank.

Wait crap didn't realise sailfin pim.
You're fine in terms of stock. The PBs and Pim would work well with your tank size and filtration
If you could grow that moray up and chuck him with the PBs that would do fine. It's just that inbetween period you know?

Mate the morays are native to where I live and are $350-500 each $100 bucks is nothing
My senegal bichir was $200 on mates rates. Retail is around $300

Start with however many you want in the end. You can always thin it out, but it'll be much harder to find an adult to go with your existing group.
Your not going to chuck a couple of inches of PB into an adult's stomach.

I think a vulture cat or similar sized pim would be a better choice....sailfin pims much too large a fish for that tank eventually. Ive seen several examples just here on MFK approaching 3' in length with a whisker span approaching 6'.

Could be a good starter tank for awhile at least though.

All credit to @thebiggerthebetter for this detailed video featuring several mature adults in a huge tank.

i have seen many ranges for size, though some often get the sailfin pim mixed with the marbled sailfin pim which grows much larger. i’m pretty sure a sailfin pim fits though
