300 gl. stand finally started

I got the tank pached today ! I will put up a pic tomorrow. Leak ckeck is set for sat that will give the weldon 3 full days to cure.

The trim turned out different than I thought it would so I am looking into doing something diferent.

Here is the tank the day I got it home, it had a center overflow that I literally hacked out with a roto zip.

Great looking stand, how are you getting on now.
I am designing a stand at the moment for my 210 G tank and using your idea/build as a guideline :

Stand looks great.

The 2x4 construction will be fine incase you were still wondering.

Thanks, The stand is holding up very well, the tank has ben on it and filled for around 2 months now. This weekend I finaly received the background it is a bamboo fence 2' X 8' and is 1" bamboo poles when I gre it installed i will post a pic.
I really cant take credit for the stand design as I copied it from other builds on this section.

I have a 8ft 300gallon acrylic that I'm going to need to build a stand for... Is there a maximum distance that the top framing joists be from one another? (i.e. 12" centers, 16's or 18's)? I built a stand for my Glass 180 and it's using 12" centers... to much?

Did you polish up the tank then? Where's the link for that? :D That Bamboo pole BG will be interesting to see installed... Are they all sealed with something? Or all raw material?

I am not qualified to answer 12",16" or 18 " centers I made mine on 18" centers. I had ran out of time when the tank was set up so it did not get polished. the bamboo looks shiny so I would say there is some sort of coating on it. here is a pic of the bamboo leaning up against the stand.it should be installed in a couple of days.
