so let me get this right, because you do something you want everyone else to do it? 9/10 times people have foam under their acrylic tank my tank manufacture gave me a 25 year warranty which is voided if I don't have foam so why would I void the warranty and take the foam out ? Any of your tanks new?

Just wanted to give you a little insight. I don’t have much experience with acrylic tanks as mine are all glass. However, I read a lot about them here on the forum. wednesday13 wednesday13 is pretty well known here as the acrylic expert on the forum. I would not disregard his suggestion as “just something he does and wants everyone else to do.” He has give tons of great advice on acrylic to other members, which helped them restore, repair, build, and fix tanks. I don’t think there is anybody else on the forum that knows as much about acrylic as he does, and he probably knows more than many tank manufacturers.

Now, having said that, since your manufacturer requires the foam for the warranty, I would obviously recommend keeping it so that you don’t void that warranty. However, keep in mind that their warranty probably won’t cover any water damage caused by a tank leak or blow out.

In the end, you have a fantastic tank and I will enjoy seeing it all setup and stocked!

I appreciate the kind words, dont want to derail his thread any further tho lol... the O.P. and i have talked quite a bit since the 1st cple posts and came up with a way to honor the warranty and try and keep the foam intact as best as possible. the problem that arises with foam is it can break down over time. Ive instructed to use some wood trim around the foam to prevent any damage leading to tank shifting. other members have used this method aswell.

As stated him and I have discussed this outside of mfk and understand where each other are coming from....anyhow here's an update on the tank, I got the wood in and attached the loc line, got 3000g of ceramic media coming next week for this and the 2 180s plus I'll be adding lil more wood and things here and there
