no, I am at least looking four. I had something in mind. would i be able to keep multiple pair of different kinds of cichlids ?
Hey i didnt really know the meaning of wetpet but now what it is. i would like at least like a pair or so because the tank in the living room and my parents wond be happy with one random fish in there .Are you looking for a solo fish like a wetpet?
Welcome to the forum!
I would recommend a convict pair + dithers. They have the attitude of large cichlids but stay pretty small.
I have couple ideas for you, they’re not ideal but could work. First forget the jack or GT, ain’t gonna happen in a 50soo what i would like to achieve this tank is - 1 boss of the tank(The jack), acaras, firemouths. this gives me contrast and the big fish that i would like to go for. my tank dimensions are 80cmW x 42cmD x 65cmH so a big fish like jack should have enough space to swim around.

You could do two pair, maybe something like HRPs and Rainbow cichlids or keyholes, but you have to scape it properly
Second is a severum as the tank boss and then a few smaller cichlids like the ones I listed or maybe some smaller geos and maybe a type of tough catfish like a synodontis or a BN pleco
that sounds great. i was wondering if i can put like some chilids like apistogramas or rams to finish the tank ?The jack would likely kill the rest once he hits 6 inches. Maybe a severum an acara and a convict or firemouth. Still may be a bit crowded and need frequent water changes but less aggression with these.
I think they’re a little to small to go with a severum, but I’m not positivethat sounds great. i was wondering if i can put like some chilids like apistogramas or rams to finish the tank ?
