Oh gotcha, you could do a pair of dragon puffers. They get 5-ish inches but it doesn’t get much more monstrous than those lol

I have couple ideas for you, they’re not ideal but could work. First forget the jack or GT, ain’t gonna happen in a 50
You could do two pair, maybe something like HRPs and Rainbow cichlids or keyholes, but you have to scape it properly
Second is a severum as the tank boss and then a few smaller cichlids like the ones I listed or maybe some smaller geos and maybe a type of tough catfish like a synodontis or a BN pleco
is this still possible ??

Here what the stocking plan right now -
1X Severum
2X Blue Acara
1X fire mouth
1X pair of a apistograama
Couple plecos(BNs, or smaller l numbers)
Maybe a Geophagus(Small variant) if there's a chance.

were still talking about a 50 gallon right?

65 gallon would be minimum for severum so i would not recommend it.
50 gallon is not a lot. Cichlids are quite territorial that means that in the wild a couple even small will probably defend a 1meter square. (what is kinda your whole tank)

If you want multiple cichlids you should go with tanganyika lake cichlids. (Most of )all other cichlids will be to aggressive to house in a community in a 50 gallon.
Otherwise you are probably only able to keep a pair of cichlids and not a whole community.

I appreciate that you tried to 'rescue' a ghost knife but they get around 9 inch which is wayyyy to big for your tank.
So as long as you have that knifefish i would not put anything with it.. except if you want it to be killed.

So please find a good home for the knifefish since it will not do well in your tank and you will not be able to keep anything with it. Especially not cichlids or anything aggressive

in like a year or soo i am planning to upgrade to a 75 gallon or soo. i only have a 50 gallon right now because we live in a small house and thats all i can fit. i knew that the knife fish will get that big but it will tank time and until then i will upgrade anyway?
