500 gallon predator pond

Might want to add a net over the pond so the arowana doesn’t spook and jump! Those Midas look awesome
Thanks! Planning on adding a net soon. The aro usually avoids all the other fish, never seens it jump eversince I put it in the pond.
The little midas has grown bold recently, and hangs out more openly. Love how they all beg for food!
Looks good!
Thanks!

I don't want to be a profit of doom, but that aro/RTC combo would stress me.

Also, what's the bird in the background?

That RTC only eats frozen foods and shows no interest in live prey. It uses its whiskers to sense cold food, such as the raw shrimp I was feeding it in the video. I've kept smaller fish with it before, and it hasn’t shown any predatory behavior. The Arowana is doubling in size since I added it two months ago, and the RTC hasn’t attempted to attack it once. During the night, I keep a small white light on to make sure all the fish can see the RTC and avoid surprises. Outside of feeding times, it mostly stays hidden.

That isn’t just one bird, but a group of Australian budgies—about 12 of them in a large cage, which is also in my room. They’re lively little guys and always chirping away!

Love me some budgies - come on, share a pic or 3! Not to be confused with budgie smugglers.

Question? they look nice and really big but how big are they when you first got them as juveniles/babies? where did you buy those fish? is it legal in your area? are you from the state? what do you feed them? did you put them together at the same time as juveniles? do you always feed your snakehead and pacu than the others? cause I have seen your video the pacu seems to bully the cichlid if I am right and your snakehead seems to be chilling and not bothering other fish if I am right also and also concern about your snakehead and do you always feed your snakehead than the rest? cause snakeheads can always be hungry anytime especially the toman which where I live in south east asia here in asia toman can be found in common parts in the world especially thailand and migrated to the ph which is my current location here in the ph toman are very common than other rare exotic fish like the goliath or payara that can be illegal in some parts of manila and also toman are very common on local petshops like cartimar and exotic petshops like the toman albino var. hybrid which I have before I also have a 500 gal pond same as yours when I put the giant gourami in the pond and the rest of the others I saw it was bitten and has chunks and nips over its body on the pond it was only about 4 to 5 inches long and the snakehead or toman in local is about 9 half inches long and the other tank mates are about 6 to 7 inches and other of them especially the gator gar was about 10 to 11 inches long now after a few days I saw my snakehead dead on the pond floating when it ate the gourami if I am right and also the gar and the paroon the rtc and the tsn didnt died which I am lucky and sadly I loose 2 fish was not successfully grown now my fish are getting big and will need for a better tank and also I hope your fish will do well in the future but will need a bigger tank that I am planning in the future thanks for sharing those predator fish!👊💯

hey man sorry for the late reply.

I first bought the pacu when it was 6 to 7 inch. I raised it and then added the adult Midas cichlid to the pond. I added the snakehead (which was 6 inch at the start) with the now 16 inch pacu and the 12 inch cichlid, just to make sure it didn't bother anyone. It was very shy at first, but it grew used to being in the pond. Another midas cichlid, a smaleer one was added later one but the snakehead didn't bother any fish, It eventually became 16 inch long, and yes, it didn't bother any fish. The logic behind this was that it was raised with these fish eversince it was small, but after the 16 inch mark, it ripped apart my walking catfish which was a new addition. Also to keep the aggression at bay, i overfed the snakehead (only a little) to ensure it wouldn't attack the other fish. Also i am from the the middle east, saudi arabia, where this fish is legal to keep.

I am so sorry for the loss of your looking forward to seeing your progression.

This is my past fish since they were so big I already sold them and he’s name was Gary as in my profile he ate two Oscar 1 pbass and 1 medium sized giant snakehead and sadly I still miss him in my neighbor’s house and I am still worried what’s happening to him!
