Man, took me 3 days to finish reading this thread. Awesome project, although, I must admit it's a bit weird to see Discus with Aros, as some people have mentioned.
Thanks man!! It's always nice to know that you have shared some of your ideas and I bet it's even be better if you know someone also applied your ideas in their projects. Yeah I get all sort of reactions when I post my community tank in discus forums. Here's a pic that I like posting in discus forums :D

And that small guy is still there!!:headbang2

Haha, I can imagine the scare that gives all Discus lovers! But that aside, this is an AWESOME tank! One day... one day, I'll be brave enough to plead with my wife to allow me to make a tank!

My sealed fishtank room is still having too much moisture specially the top/ceiling part of the tank. There seems to be not enough air circualtion on the top of the tank and my dehumidifier is too far to get to that portion of the sealed room. The plastic moisture barrier is colder so it condenses on the plastic and drips on the 2X6 upper fish tank frame. I painted the 2X6's and the one on the front glass has epoxy but the wood is still deteriorating. I KNEW SHOULD HAVE USED PRESSURE TREATED WOOD ON THAT PART!!!:irked::irked: My fish tank will not last long with this moisture. I will be putting booster fan on to top of tank hopefully to get rid of condensation. My exhaust fan is too small to suck out moisture, I'll have to change that too, but my outlet pipe is only 3"!!! :irked:. I am also thinking of lowering my water level by 1" to 2" hopefully that added distance of my wood from water will help reduce moisture absorption, (don't know if that even makes sense ) While I am at it I guess I'll also add some more lights. Will be working on these stuff tomorrow.

Got a 10" booster fan at princess auto and installed it on top of the tank. Been running for about 12hrs now and there is definitely no more condensation on the plastic sheets but high humidity is still in the room about 60%. Also added 5 socket lights.

I lowered the water level by about 3". Here's some pic of my tank. I havent clean the glass since day one so its a bit dirty. Been planning to by mag float 500 or something just don't have the money right now plus my basement is still a mess so no point of making my tank presentable. I haven't change the water for 2 weeks now hoping to have a faster developement of algea on the back ground. Algea will make the back ground more realistic. I guess that's one advantage of 3D rock background, you don't have to worry about algea growth on them. So I only have to worry about my front glass which I am hoping to be cleaned by mag float.
