Here are some pics of my sump that I am hoping to make into a refugium but don't really have much of an idea on this topic. Hoping to get some advice on how to set this up. Doing hydroponics is also very cool.
One end of it with the water coming in. I can pipe in this water to the end of sump if need be

and heres the other end of it

I can clear all the garbage in there to make way for hydroponics.

I got these mangroves with me for about 6 months now and planned to put them into the sump.

The sump opening is a little tight but I can go in side it with a little bit of accrobatics. So hoping to have a less maintenance refugium or hydroponics

Also another thing is that the water gets higher by about a foot more (somewhere on the water marks on the pond liner) when I shut off the pump which I always do when feeding the fishes 2X a day.

Hoping to get some advice from anybody with knowledge on refugium/hydroponics.

Don't have much update on the fish tank. I haven't been doing a 2 pump flushing since the dirt just over flows to the filter then the sump and I don't want to dirty my sump since it is harder to clean it. I run 2 pumps a few days ago and I have to guard the overflow with a net to catch the dirt before it overflows to the filter. I will be working on the settling tank hopefully this weekend. I already have a design plan.

Interesting mix.

Don't plan on keeping discus fry/young...AKA "LUNCH".........LOL

Don't have much update on my tank. Haven't been doing much work on it these last few weeks, just stand and stare at it I guess Clean- flush my tank once a week only. That flushing system is just AWESOME!!!! It takes a lot less effort cleaning my fish tank and a lot efficient. The modification I did for the settling tank is good but not great. Flakes that I feed my discus and other tiny particles still flows over to my filter. I am not too rattled about it though. I guess I need to give my mangroves some nitrates too!! Some issues on my moisture that condenses and drops on top of the fish tank walls..........just added insulation and it helped. I need to install a bigger exhaust fan though..... maybe early nest year

great set up arows and discus who would of thought looks great are your lights on in those picts?
