I dont have the deminsions remembered off the top of my head but i will get them for you. last night I filled the 76 gallon up and it holds water. I also put the glass in the smaller tank also. I hope to have both tanks and my stands at my house on sunday so I can start setting everything up.

well i filled the tank up with old tank water and new water to start cycling the tank. I have 2 power filters hooked up to it. Might be getting the rest of the gravel tonite and i am not using led lights anymore. I have 2 18w screw in bulbs hooked up to it right now and its plenty bright. i will try to post some pics soon.

Your project looks very interesting and looks like it may be self gratifying. I too thoughtof building a tank of my own. What mathmatical formula did you use to calculate the size of your tank for the gallon capacity you desired? I would be interested to know, if you don't mind sharing the info. Thanks.

I made the tank size to fit where i wanted it too. whats nice with plywood tanks you can make them in any shape. once you get the size you want do a search on google for aquarium calculator and go from there. remember you need to do the inside dimmensions

ok somebody asked me a wiring diagram so here it is. This is the best that i could do to draw it up on the computer so i hope it works. I USED IN THE PICTURE RED AND BLACK POWER LINES BECAUSE I CANT USE WHITE ON WHITE. EACH BULB FIXTURE HAS 2 WIRES COMING OUT which are WHITE AND BLACK.
STEP 1 YOU HOOK BOTH WHITES UP TOGETHER AND THEN BOTH BLACKS TOGETHER. STEP 2 THEN YOU NEED TO ADD A 3RD WIRE TO THE BLACK AND WHITE WIRES SO YOU GO DOWN TO A SINGLE WHITE AND BLACK WIRE. YOU RUN THIS TO YOUR THIRD LIGHT FIXTURE IS YOU HAVE ONE. IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU WILL SKIP STEP 3.
STEP 3 YOU HAVE THE SINGLE BLACK AND WHITE WIRES FROM THE FIRST 2 LIGHTS. YOU NEED HOOK THOSE WIRES UP TO THE 3RD LIGHT FIXTURE SO THEN YOU HAVE 2 WIRES HOOKED TO BOTH BLACK AND WHITE SO ONCE AGAIN YOU ADD A 3RD WIRE TO BOTH THE BLACK AND WHITE WIRES LIKE YOU DID IN STEP 2.
STEP 4 SO NOW YOU HAVE A SINGLE BLACK WIRE AND WHITE WIRE. YOU RUN THE BLACK WIRE INTO THE TOP SCREW OF THE SWITCH. YOU NEED ANOTHER WIRE TO COME OUT OF THAT SWITCH FROM THE BOTTOM SCREW. YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE WHITE WIRE ALONE IN THIS STEP.
STEP 5 SO YOU HAVE THE BLACK WIRE COMING OUT OF THE SWITCH AND YOU NEED TO HOOK THE BLACK WIRE FROM THE ELECTRICAL PLUG AND YOU ALSO HOOK THE WHITE WIRE TO THE WHITE WIRE FROM THE ELECTRICAL PLUG.
STEP 6 PLUG IT INTO THE WALL TO SEE IF YOU HAVE IT HOOKED UP RIGHT. :)
