My wife took me to Dubai in January for my 30th, bless her. We went to the dubai mall where they had a MASSIVE tank, biggest viewing window in the world i believe, any way had a snorkel in the tank and went round the adjoining aquarium, some pretty big monsters in there! (nothing to do with my tank build, im just pissed because i have no progress to take pics of)

Dubai generally does nothing for me, but that might be worth a viewing.
I have been to Dubai so many times thought I had permanently crossed it off my list. But I might have to put it back on, after those pics.

Our friends live in Dubai-been to that mall several times. They actually have a public aquarium in the mall too with some amazing fish. That huge tank sprung a leak a while ago. Went to some LFS-thier dry goods and choice of stock was poor but they had some incredibly priced pumps for sale. I saw some dual oulet pumps (like the Tunze) which pumped 20,00LPH and they ere the equivalent of £7-10.

Atlantis World/Waterpark also has a very good aquarium too.

No not yet were waiting for the architect then the planning permission etc but im trying to figure out how to build it from fibreglass with a viewing window so i dont have to spend £3k on an all glass tank lol

guess you could go down the tried and tested route of using timber and plywood, then glazing the front in a single sheet of glass, like mine i guess?

My dad is a shipwright by trade, and he swears by fibreglass, said i should be using it on mine instead of epoxy, but i'n using the epoxy i have found because its easy to apply. My dad has said the fibre glass would be stronger, but being father and son, you know how it goes, he knows best and i think i know better!

How big are you planning on the tank, guess it's going in an extension on the house? worth waiting for mate, atleast you won't have to dash across the garden in the winter to get to it :WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA:
