Dunno how its got scratched, although the clown loach likes to lie up against the glass so may have got sand between him, also all my fish are getting bigger so if they whip around and rub sand across it maybe thats how,but its near the bottom so i guess its from the sand, also the tank is quite a few years old now, dont know if that makes any difference.

Good luck with the sanding and epoxy unless your watching the footy lol.

Steve
interesting, i know clowns can be mischiefs, guess it could be him attempting some sand blasting!

cheers mate, i'll need the luck tomorrow, especially sanding the tank down. think that's gonna be a light flick over with an orbital sander to save time then finish by hand.

I'll be out there first thing so nothing is gonna get in the way of football :grinno: i don't follow it otherwise, but the world cup is a different matter :headbang2 i just hope england don't end up playing italy, my father in law 'the cod father' will be after me big time.

few updates....

lightly sanded the tank in preparation for another coat of epoxy. i applied some more fibre glass matting over all the joints and corners again, then applied the epoxy. The more layers i apply the better it's looking :)

Gonna leave it til next saturday to apply the ( hopefully) final quote, then all going to plan i can glaze it the following weekend :headbang2 :grinno: :headbang2

Looking good mate. very shiney! Really hope it holds for you.
it's only that shiney 'cause it's wet, dries up a bit more matt :irked:

have to hold my hand up, it was nice and dry, to touch but far from cured i'm sure, this avo so i mixed up the remaining 2.5 litres and gave it all another, final i hope, coat, went on really well, nice coverage, feeling confident now this will work, can't barely see the fibre glass matting tape any more, even the L brackets i added around the front frame are almost gone so it's definitely got a decent coating all over. Just let it set now, realistically i reckon a couple of weeks til i get the glass, still waiting on a bloody price from my mate, will give him a kick up the back side tomorrow and get it moving. at least this will give the whole thing plenty of time to cure and set fully.

cheers mate, how's the move coming along and the relocation of the remaining fish?
Still a few more to go. Realistically the only place that the Pacu can go to is Swallow in Harling so gonna have to take a trip down and talk to Dillon. A few of the fish have gone to a shop in Yarmouth, despite telling them over the phone that Fluffy the TSN was 2ft long they didn't quite believe it until they saw him and realised they'd have to do some frantic tank swapping! Was very sad to leave him there, at least they let me move my fish into their tanks though (TBH i think they were worried about getting bit, Fluffy attacked the net i moved him over in when trying to get him into the tank.)

should give it plenty of time to dry and set properly then if it's a couple of weeks. Have you tested the filter again recently or did I miss that?

You prob told me before, but Dillon is still there, he must be part of the furniture now! will the pacu end up in the massive tank behind the counter, i am talking about ten years ago since i was last there though :(

Yep, most definitely will give it plenty of time, i'm only going in there to have a peak each day, not walk in the tank or anything, i don't want to jinx it by messing with it or trying a test too soon etc. Nope, not tested the filter since the leak, just applied two more coats and some more fibre glass matt tape over everything i could find that looked like a joint. It looks way better than when it leaked, can't even see the wood grain now which brings back the confidence.

reason why i aint got a glass price yet is because the supplier is on his hols til thursday, found that out today so hopefully end of the week i can order it :) then just wait :)
