Nice work, i'm especially proud that you follow my kind working practice by having the electrical plug hangign just above the water:headbang2

Yeah 600 quid sounds crazy high compared to what i paid for mine. What dimensions are you looking at for glass again?

Is it waterproof?

Steve
indeed it is steve, so far mate, no signs of trouble, now all i gotta do is get a better price on the glass. if the filter continues to hold for, i guess forever :headbang2, then i will drain it in a few more days, dry it out and then start fixing in the partitions for the filter chambers :D

glass size is 1980mm long by 1300mm high, of the top of my head. more people have said forget acrylic, including SPWD so i guess its glass to be then

bit of a crap picture but the water is full of this suspended stuff, guess it is a residue from the top layer of the epoxy or something, wasn't expecting to see anything at all so a bit confused. still no leaks though :headbang2
looks like the releasing agent they blend into epoxy, so it will release from gel-coat molds...

Sometimes it is in the epoxy and sometimes it is sprayed into the actual mold itself....;)

basically it is wax...
Just wash the cured epoxy with warm soapy water and rinse well before filling...

Hi Alan, thanks for the details, we use Brian at Express glass for mirrors and splash backs at work, i did mention the tank glass to him but for some strange reason he is only interested in supplying 10mm glass, he seems to think that is thick enough, but i'm not so convinced. Sorry i missed your calls tonight, i will give you a bell tomorrow morning. mike
