looks like the releasing agent they blend into epoxy, so it will release from gel-coat molds...

Sometimes it is in the epoxy and sometimes it is sprayed into the actual mold itself....;)

basically it is wax...
Just wash the cured epoxy with warm soapy water and rinse well before filling...

Zennzzo, cheers for the advice, makes sense now, i had horrid visions of it breaking down before my eyes just before another flood started  i will wash the main tank down tomorrow if i get time, father's day so prob busy. thanks again mate

Contract Glass in Norwich provided mine if you're still after good quotes, was very good value (much less than i was expecting anyway.) And yes 10mm does sound on the very thin side! at a water depth of 1300mm I think you'll be a wanting 20mm thick?

cheers alan, i'll give him a bell tomorrow and have another go, for some strange reason when i was up there last talking to him about work he was not at all interested in getting the glass over 10mm, i'll have another go. look forward to meeting you tomorrow mate, mike

still holding water, no problems at all :) things are looking up.

contacted express glass again this morning, he was much more receptive to help this time, maybe just couldn't be bothered before, whatever, all good now.

Should have a price to me in a couple of days, have to wait for manufacturer to get back to him apparently. Glass will be 19mm/3/4" low iron content, final measurement was 1960mm wide 1300mm high. i lost 20mm over all on the glass width when i applied the last two coats of epoxy, it certainly has built up a good thick layer in the corners which was helped no end by the fibre glass tape giving it something decent to bond to.
