We moved the webcam to the other side of the tunnel today - you can actually SEE fish now haha. I'll ad it to my sig (good idea). I'm resizing some pics and will post them asap.

Sorry they're such poor quality. That place was packed today, and I was trying to squeeze it pics between heads walking by.
I should also make note that the Florida transport permit came today! I will be picking up a GREAT arapaima soon!!!

Right now, it's mainly Mazuri Aquatic gel diet. I love that stuff. I've also been doing some chopped capelin, smelt, shrimp, mysis, and bloodworms from time to time. With all the animals in there, it will require getting in the water to feed (this insures the bottom dwellers are all getting some). Earthworms will be added to the mix once the rays get moved over.

Right now I feed a little in the AM, and a majority of it in the PM.

you should do some research on feeding the bottom dwellers. i saw it on animal planet. they got a pvc pipe about 6" in diameter, and long enough to hit the bottom and still stick out the top so you can drop in the food. it sinks straight to the bottom where the rays and bottom feeders wait, then chum the area from the top to keep the middle/top swimmers occupied.
Sadly, we lost one of the big pacu overnight. He weighed over 45 lbs when we pulled it out. Necropsy showed nothing other than she was VERY old.
I just jumped on this thread, this thing looks awesome! Does anyone else kinda feel bad for that pacu? She wakes up in a freakin mansion, then, she dies. That must suck.

She was pretty old. But I hope she enjoyed her stay with us.

Looks like the trip to get the arapaima leaves Wed. We are also going to the Toledo (Ohio) Zoo to get another 200 midas cichlids they have for surplus. Still waiting to here on the other 8 large pacu coming in.
