Thanks for the advise. I don't think there will be any problems with this coating system, each and every coat was fully sanded and cleaned before the next coat was applied. The supplier also recommended these 2 materials as compatable. I'll still be keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed when filling her up

I have a 6" pleco, let's hope he doesn't like epoxy

Well that's good - there are large variations between different epoxies, so you are likely OK. The sanding helps a lot as well. The big trouble comes if someone does things the other way around and attempts to topcoat epoxy with a polyester gelcoat.

Well, the time has come for me to leave home for another 4 weeks for work, so there won't be any new updates during that time

The good news is, all my silicone work is done inside the tank, so by the time I return the tank will be 100% ready for water filling
