Wow Great build very "overbuilt" and looks amazing thank you for the inspiration... 1500$ and all that time you put into this is ALOT but the end result must be breathtaking i can only look at the few pictures you have given us and it looks amazing...
one question in the pictures you say "it is right full" but there is a good 5inch Gap with no water at the top is that just because of bulkhead placement? maybe i am missing something but i look forward to future posts full of fish... and now you have some of the hardest decisions what to put in it lol Good Luck
Thanks. The water level is full when it is above the top of the viewing window. There is still several inches of space above that and its a safeguard for if the overflows ever get blocked then the tank won't over fill from the sump pump.

,

I'm still thinking about what to do with my LM Bass, he may be donated to my friends pond or I may build an indoor pond for him.
Have a good fishing trip, I wish I was coming along :D

Maybe I could find them in China or somewhere like that if I really tried, but we have decided to go with barbs :)

0 days :D
I got home 21 hours ago and had a good nights sleep. I woke up this morning, filled up the tank, picked up the remaining substrate from my LFS, cleaned it and put it in. I put in some pre-cycling liquid that was recommended by my LFS and now I have a goldfish in the tank to see how he goes over night. He's been in a few hours and he is lively.
If all goes well tonight, I will put all my cycled media and gravel from my other tank tomorrow.

I am also thinking of not putting my bass in this tank at all. Since this tank is in our living room, we are thinking of putting a shoal of tinfoil barbs in the tank instead and keep the bass in the other tank in the other room.

I am using a 1500 GPH pump.
C'mon man, don't change your mind now, look at the title, you need your bass in it man.

What did you decide?

So close to the finish line now, don't change horses! You know you want the bass in there...

(I need the image below with the word "More" in there...)

You gotta be kidding me.... I just read 498 posts from start to end and I get left hanging at the very end. Dangit!! :irked:

Now I've gotta wait only a couple hours hopefully to see fish in it.

Talk about blue balls... :grinno:

Ok, here's the latest update.
My bass did NOT go into this tank. It was a very tough dicision but the right one. My LM Bass is an awesome fish, but he was not right for this tank. As this tank is in my living room it needed some color and life so I went for a different stock....

1. 1 x 8" tilapia (breed unsure)
2. 4 x 4" blood parrots (for color)
3. 6 x small tinfoil barbs
4. 1 x 5" pleco (common pleco I think)

Here's some photos....The last photo is the tank fitted with blue bulbs for an attemped moon light affect. Unfortunately the photos don't do it justice.
