I never stated the work was mine, so you sir, on top of being a smart ass, are incorrect.

The worst part about all of this is that this thread is being looked at for the wrong reasons. :(

Regarding the umbie profile, it was taken verbatim from the site he referenced.

The World Cichlids site gives proper credit to the author and the photographer, I think Benfica540 should do the same here.
?? He had the works cited at the bottom of the post referencing to worldcichlids.com.

What happened to your personal attack on Mojo thread.........did it get deleted:ROFL:

You need to stop derailing this thread.

well first off no need for de-railment. Anyways as for the content of this entire thread, I ve looked it over and I dont see anything wrong with it as it does have the links incroprated to where the information came from and as long as it has that its not plagerized.

Great info, Ben.

I do not see what the negative fuzz is all about. Sources were cited. It's great work to bring it all together. Thank you.

I think that plagerism is a little strong, but I do think that leaving out the author's name on all of the referenced material can be misleading. If you look at some of the comments from other MFK members you will see that they are complimenting Ben on the content that was written by other people (they clearly have not checked the links provided).

I think that benfica540's intentions are good, I just think that he needs to realize that many authors and photographers are sensitive when it comes to getting proper credit.

Incorporating the author or photographers name in the original post ( in addition) to the links. It is also customary to use "quotation marks" when you are using passages verbatim.

Now, back to the false basket cichlids :)

To be fair, after everytime somebody credited ME with the information posted, I clearly stated it was not MY information and even reposted the links to the sites where I got the information. I never took nor wanted credit for any of the information. I just wanted it in one area where people could read and learn about these great fish. I did absolutely nothing wrong, and what Armac (:SaiyanSmi ) and Aquamojo were doing was trying to destroy and derail the thread.

My power went out while posting this :( and did not come back in time to edit. Here is the most important correction.

Now back to the False Basket Mouth Cichlids.

My main point of contention was the additional MFK watermark on my photo. Period.

John, I don't remember them being call false basketmouth's. Is this in reference to the "basket mouth" Acaronna Nassa...being the TRUE basket mouth? Or is that just the common moniker slapped on the fish?
