Anything Caquetaia!

Caquetaia are commonly referred to as the "false" basketmouth cichlid because of their resemblance with the ACARONIA nassa.

Yup, but I think it is more resemblance of just the mouth structure than the whole fish. Either way I call the false basket mouths when I talk about them, becuase I can't pronounce Caquetaia. lol

No pics yet...but I got a couple Caquetaia Myersi and there are 4 more at the LFS....Exotic Life in Chatsworth, CA.

Plowed - how much were they?

They are great fish, lemme tell yaz. I've kept myersi and spectabile, and love them both. C. myersi hold the cake for me though, much more predatory, with bigger mouths and crazy colors! ;)

My only question- why have umbees been put in this genus? I'm not an Ichthyologist but they don't seem to fit in this genus.

Its all about finz, rays, scales, and the like. I think they fit pretty well...;)

Peanut - May I ask how you came up with your price on your myersi? Young 'uns are going for dollars.

May I ask what gives you the right to question my price? I have quite a few reasons for the price that I have, if thats a problem, don't buy them. I really don't feel the need to explain myself to you either. Its also not a great idea to try and start crap with a mod....;)
