Hey.. I purchased some 10oz gun tubes from aquariumguys. Way better than squeeze tubes, even for small jobs IMO. Shipping kills but I could not find the stuff locally.

SeaWorld uses: GE (SCS-2000 SIL-PRUF). 340 psi

I also was told by (!@#$%^&) @ MOMENTIVE that these other two products would work for my application. He aslo streeses that they do not make any aquarium Silicones and are (Not Liable for damage), even though he knows the silicone will in fact hold for many years, and he knows many Places such as EPCOT and Sea World use their products with liitle to no issues.

MONENTIVE (RTV-108). 400 psi (FOR SUPER LARGE TANKS)
GE (SCS-2000 SIL-PRUF). 340 psi (For Large Tanks)
GE (GE-1) 260 psi (for small tanks) under 100 gallons

Keep in mind MOMENTIVE Owns GE, APPALO, and is now just a huge MOMENTIVE CO.

If it can HOLD the water volume for SHAMU's tank, It can hold my Monster Tank Glass.:grinno:

DAP makes an aquarium silicone. I spoke to the lab and was told its max is for a 30 gallon tank (35 psi). and should not be use for anything larger!!:WHOA:

Does anybody know if permatex 80855 also known as #66 clear rtv silicone is aquarium safe. I ask because I have 2 cases full of it from the shop, it is intended for windshields and car moldings.

I have built tanks in excess of 1000 gallons and I use Perennator AQ201 with no problems. I also like tall Tanks up to 48" tall' Perennator holds just great. I think its EXTREMELY important to PROPERLY PREPARE ALL surfaces to be joined, and to have the proper amount of surface area for maximum holding power.

Thanx. It never occurred to me to check McMaster.

Supposedly the DC 732 and the GE108 are the same, according to the specs.(NSF, food contact, UL, etc). I never heard of the DC832 but I'll check it out.

Is there a specific number on the GE Construction Sealant?

I use the GE product for building aquarium decorations but i dont think that it is suitable to build an aquarium with. It is in a blue tube and is labled GE silicone I, there are 2 different kinds of it but I works better than II, even if it does smell worse. The only big difference is they changed the solvent from citric acid (in I) to ammonia (in II).

So you mean to say that I can't build my 100 gallon (6ftx18inx18in) using GE Silicone I as a sealant? What should I use to construct my 100 gallon aquarium then?

I would use the construction sealant but i really don't have any experience with building tanks, its just that while using the GE I brand, the excess was easy to remove and i would think that the bond would be too weak. but again i would not know for sure.
